CAMBRIDGE, OH, UNITED STATES, October 1, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — D&J Precision Machine, a Burnout Brands company, has introduced two remanufactured long block engines for 2011–2016 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra 2500HD and 3500HD trucks equipped with the 6.6L LML Duramax. The new Precision Plus and Essentials long blocks combine precision in-house machining, upgraded components, and comprehensive testing to address common LML engine failure points while offering owners and repair shops two replacement options to suit their needs and budgets.

Having built its reputation on high-performance Cummins engines, D&J Precision Machine is applying the same engine-building expertise, precision manufacturing processes and commitment to quality to the Duramax platform. The new LML long blocks expand D&J’s engine offering, bringing its established approach to durability and reliability to Chevrolet and GMC truck owners.

“LML owners depend on these trucks for work, towing and everyday driving, and when an engine needs replacing, they want confidence in what’s going back under the hood,” said Drew Pumphrey, CEO of D&J Precision Machine. “We’ve spent years developing and refining our Cummins engine programs, and we’re bringing that same experience and attention to detail to the Duramax platform. With Precision Plus and Essentials, we’re giving customers two options built around the same commitment to precision machining, quality components, and thorough testing.”

Precision Machined and Tested In-House
Both Precision Plus and Essentials are completely disassembled, cleaned, inspected, precision machined, and rebuilt to D&J Precision Machine specifications at its Cambridge, Ohio, facility.

Each long block incorporates key engineering improvements designed to address common LML engine weaknesses:
Precision machining: Blocks are CNC blueprinted, bored, honed, and deck surfaced, while each crankshaft is inspected for straightness and dimensional accuracy.

Upgraded rotating assembly: New OEM-spec Tier 1 pistons and rings provide proper fit and sealing, while keyed crankshaft and camshaft gears help prevent gear slippage and maintain proper engine timing.

Remanufactured cylinder heads: Recut valve seats, new valves, and upgraded L5P top-hat valve stem seals help improve sealing and reduce the risk of valve seal failure.

New internal components: Bearings, thrust washers, lifters, valve springs, and freeze plugs are replaced during the rebuilding process.

Every engine undergoes a controlled testing sequence using D&J’s RMC ETS-100 equipment to verify cylinder compression, oil system and cooling system integrity before shipping.

Precision Plus Comprehensive Upgrades and a More Complete Assembly
The Precision Plus long block builds on D&J’s core machining and testing processes with additional engineering upgrades designed to address common LML failure points and improve long-term reliability.

ARP head studs and Tier 1 multi-layer steel head gaskets provide increased clamping force to help maintain head gasket sealing under demanding operating conditions. An upgraded L5P oil cooler provides improved cooling capacity to help manage oil temperatures, while a pinned oil pump drive gear helps prevent slippage and maintain consistent oil pressure.

Precision Plus also includes rocker assemblies, pushrods, valve bridges, rocker boxes, valve covers, an intake manifold, a harmonic balancer, a flywheel, a flex plate, a flex plate washer, and new mounting hardware.

With a more complete assembly and fewer components requiring transfer from the original engine, Precision Plus is designed to streamline installation, with an estimated installation time of 19 hours.

Essentials Quality and Reliability at a Lower Price Point
The Essentials long block delivers D&J’s core machining, upgraded components, and in-house testing processes in a value-focused replacement engine.

It features the same precision-machined block, keyed crankshaft and camshaft, upgraded L5P valve stem seals, new internal components and RMC testing as Precision Plus.

Essentials uses Tier 1 head gaskets and is supplied ready for final assembly, with installers transferring applicable top-end and external components from the original engine.

With an estimated installation time of 25 hours, Essentials offers owners and repair shops a lower initial purchase price while maintaining D&J’s commitment to quality manufacturing and testing.

Pricing and Availability
Both long blocks are available now through D&J Precision Machine and BD Diesel for 2011–2016 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra 2500HD and 3500HD trucks equipped with the 6.6L LML
