Billion Shines, a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, is empowering young leaders across continents to address some of today’s most pressing global health and equity challenges through service, education, and advocacy.
Driven by the vision of illuminating a billion lives through health education and equitable access to resources, Billion Shines combines direct community service with international dialogue and youth leadership. Since its founding, the organization has provided many service projects to local groups and hospitals, including underserved communities. Every service project reflects the organization’s belief that meaningful change begins with empowering communities through education and action.

In just a short time, Billion Shines has expanded beyond the United States, establishing an active chapter in the Dominican Republic while developing new chapters in South Africa, France and continuing to expand globally in Americas, Africa and Asia. Today, the organization is supported by an international leadership team of more than 30 youth directors, each committed to advancing health equity within their own communities.
